[Entertainment] Nigerian pop star rocks American stage

Popularly known as Rhodah in the showbiz world, Roda Olabisi (now Ipinlaye) who rocked the stage few years back and disappeared into thin when the ovation was laud air has resurfaced again.

The Ondo State-born singer relocated to America after hitting the limelight back home to pursue her musical career. She became one of the emerging stars to be reckoned with right from her undergraduate days at Adekunle Ajasin University, where she horned her talent in music.

After her graduation in 2010, she armed herself with songs that drew her close to many as well as won laurels for her at many top class shindigs.

One of such events was at the Nollywood Outstanding Personality Awards ceremony shortly before she left the country where the pop star dazzled many and caught the attention of society lady and label owner, Hajia Oluremi Dangaji who instantly gave her a record deal. She also did something for Globacom but didn’t wait for its sealing before dumping Nigeria. She also triumphed once at Felabration ceremony.

Still very much involved in showbiz; singing, acting and modelling, the beautiful and gifted artiste is already making waves in the United States. She revealed during the week that her new album ‘’When We Were Young” will soon be ready.

‘’I relocated to the United States of America to pursue my career and I can say that I’ve already fitted in here as a singer, actor and model. While my album will be ready within the next two weeks, I will be part of a new movie already in the making,” he revealed.

It’s not surprising that this hard working artiste would break even upon her relocating to America because of her creative ingenuity.

America has equally become a familiar terrain as she begins to waltz her way into the action spot and events. ‘’I have done a couple of shows here like the ‘’Mommies Planet Show” and ‘’Flypstylze Entertainment Night Gala” show which was a huge success and afforded me to meet my fans here,” she reveals. What’s more, Rhodah who has also been able to meet with some of Nigeria’s top entertainers like Ice Prince, Adekunle Gold over there, plans to feature a top US-based rapper in her next album as well as work with Ice Prince later in the year.
